NGP

Summit NGP Series lubricants are formulated from highly refined paraffinic petroleum base stocks and the unique additive Syntholate. The refining process includes catalytic hydrogenation to remove impurities, M.E.K. solvent dewaxing to provide low pour points and vacuum distillation to assure low vapor pressure. The addition of Syntholate inhibits the formation of varnish and carbon and provides superior thermal and oxidative stability. Utilizing the superior petroleum base stocks fortified with Syntholate extends the life of Summit NGP Series lubricants compared to that of conventional mineral oils and provides the following money saving benefits: lubricants are formulated from highly refined paraffinic petroleum base stocks and the unique additive Syntholate. * Reduces lubricant consumption - Extended drain intervals and lower vapor pressures reduce lubricant consumption.

* Reduces maintenance - Reduces carbon and varnish formation thus extending the time interval between overhauls.

* Excellent lubricity - Provides improved wear protection for bearings and other moving parts.

* Good compatibility - The base stocks and special additive package provide excellent compatibility with system components and inhibit against hydrogen sulfide corrosion.

* Improves safety - Higher flash points provide a greater margin of safety.

Summit NGP Series lubricants with Syntholate pay for themselves with the first lubricant change.

PGS-2

Summit PGS-2 synthetic lubricant is a polyglycol-based product for use in enclosed gears, bearings, and compressors where conditions demand the unique properties of this fluid.  Better wear protection, thermal and oxidation stability, and reduced sludge and deposit formation insure enhanced performance when compared to petroleum-based lubricants.

When used in gas compression applications, the resistance to thinning out by hydrocarbon dilution allows PGS-2 to maintain the proper operating viscosity, extending drain intervals and parts life.  Due to the varying make-up of gases and operating temperatures, please contact your Summit representative for specific product recommendations.

  • As the PGS-2 lubricant is incompatible with petroleum oils, care should also be taken to make sure the two are not mixed.

SUMMIT NGL 444

The lubricant problems generally encountered with the compression of gas are related to the reaction of the gas stream to the lubricant.  These include:

*           Solubility of gas in the lubricant causes reduced lubricant viscosity resulting in cylinder scoring and high wear rates.  Compensating for this with a higher viscosity lubricant can cause handling problems at lower temperatures.

*           Absorption of lubricant into the gas stream results in high lubricant usage rates and a depletion of protective lubricant film in the cylinder.

*           Condensed hydrocarbon liquids in the cylinder area can "wash" the lubricant from the cylinder walls causing severe mechanical damage.

Summit NGL-444 polyalkylene glycol lubricant was formulated to combat these problems associated with high pressure reciprocating compressors pumping natural gas, carbon dioxide, or process gases.  NGL-444 is extremely resistant to hydrocarbon dilution and absorption by the gas stream.  The result is a lubricant maintaining the proper viscosity for wear protection and resisting wash-out and carryover.

The extremely high viscosity index of NGL-444 allows lubricant protection over a broad temperature range.  The low pour point provides all season ease of handling even in very cold climates.

Summit NGL-444 can offer these same advantages when compressing a number of difficult gases including hydrogen, helium and nitrogen.

SUMMIT NGL 888

*           Solubility of gas in the lubricant causes reduced lubricant viscosity resulting in cylinder scoring and high wear rates.  Compensating for this with a higher viscosity lubricant can cause handling problems at lower temperatures.

*           Absorption of lubricant into the gas stream results in high lubricant usage rates and a depletion of protective lubricant film in the cylinder.

*           Condensed hydrocarbon liquids in the cylinder area can "wash" the lubricant from the cylinder walls causing severe mechanical damage.

*           The carryover from increased lubricant feed rate or use of heavily compounded oils to compensate for hydrocarbon dilution and wash-out can damage the well formation.

Summit NGL-888 polyalkylene glycol lubricant was formulated to combat these problems associated with high pressure reciprocating compressors pumping natural gas, carbon dioxide, or process gases.  NGL-888 is extremely resistant to hydrocarbon dilution and absorption by the gas stream.  Any lubricant carryover will not impair the well formation as it is compatible with well-bore treatment fluids and soluble in water.  The result is a lubricant maintaining the proper viscosity for wear protection, resisting wash-out and carryover, and posing no threat of damage to the well formation.

The extremely high viscosity index of NGL-888 allows lubricant protection over a broad temperature range.  The low pour point provides all season ease of handling even in very cold climates.

Summit NGL-888 can offer these same advantages when compressing a number of other difficult gases including hydrogen, helium and nitrogen.
