PGS-2-22X is a specialized polyglycol (PAG) based lubricant for use in heavy hydrocarbon gas compressor applications where other lubricants, including synthetics, suffer from excessive viscosity thinning. The type of PAG used in PGS-2-22X is even more resistant to this thinning effect than other PAGs commonly used in these applications. It may be used in various types of rotary compressors where the gas being compressed consists of high BTU hydrocarbons. PGS-2-22X is also formulated for use as a mechanical seal oil when PAGs of similar chemistry but higher viscosity, such as PGS-2, PGS-2-68 and PGS-3, are being used as the main compressor lubricant. It does not contain additives that would contribute to fouling of the seal face in high temperature applications.
PGS-2-22X is not compatible with petroleum, PAO, ester and some PAG based lubricants. Care should be taken when two different lubricants may be mixed or come into contact with one another. Please contact Summit if you have any concerns regarding compatibility.
